My name is Derrick Bowersock and I graduated as a student of Masso Therapy at the Cleveland Institute of Medical Massage.I am a licensed massage therapist with the State Medical Board of Ohio (LMT) to practice massage therapy.
My interest in massage began during my study of Psychology at the Ohio State University which led me to the Cleveland Institute of Medical Massage. With a large focus on both the science and practical application of massage techniques I was drawn to the institution. My program of study ended in May of 2011 however my study of the field will never end. Following my graduation from the Cleveland Institute of Medical Massage I was tested by the State Medical Board of Ohio in June 2011 commencing my future as a Licensed Massage Therapist.
Through my education I have found an understanding of the physiology of the body, especially of the muscles, to massage in a way beneficial to promoting the positive function of your body, mentally and physically. Positive physical touch is an underestimated and often forgotten necessity of life like food and shelter. I abide by all professional and ethical codes of conduct and follow a personal philosophy of 'do no harm.'
